Questions we hear every day
Can I really go solar with $0 upfront?
Yes. With our Rate Lock and Power Reserve plans, the system is installed through a lease or power purchase agreement, so there’s no system to buy. You pay a predictable solar rate instead of your utility’s rising one.
What happens to my electric bill?
Your solar system replaces some or all of the power you buy from the utility. Extra power you produce can be sent back to the grid for bill credits through net metering, which is how several of our customers have seen $0 bills.
Will my solar work during a power outage?
Only with a battery. Without one, most systems shut off during outages to protect utility workers. Our Power Reserve Plan adds whole-home battery storage to keep essential circuits running.
Isn’t the federal solar tax credit gone?
The federal tax credit for homeowners ended on December 31, 2025, which is one reason our $0-down plans are popular. If you’d rather own your system, our partner Solar Tax Pros, a team of CPAs, tax attorneys and IRS enrolled agents, can check whether you qualify for commercial solar incentives through the Solar Tax Max™ Plan. How long do solar panels last?
Solar panels typically carry 25–30 year warranties, and they keep producing after that at slightly reduced efficiency.
